This striking pin is butterscotch amber, so called because of the yellowish color; the color varies from orangish-brown to bright yellow with a bit of dark brown, too. It is chunky; it has been polished smooth, but one of the more interesting imperfections has been left alone. There is a depression on the top that is the remainder of a fossilized insect. There is a brass pin bar assembly glued to the back, the style of which dates from the 1930's. This pin dates from that era and is from the Baltic Sea area, probably Poland. It measures 2 7/8" by 1 3/8" by 5/8" thick. For those of you who like your amber natural looking, this one is for you.
