This pretty ironstone china bone dish has a deep blue, moderately flowed flower and swag design with a spray of leaves projecting up into the center. Bone dishes were placed on the table above the dinner plate to receive discarded fish or chicken bones. This one is English, ca. 1900, maker unknown. It is the same design as Turtle Creek item #817ZX with the pattern inverted. The design is called "Martha." It measures 6 1/2" X 3 1/4" X 3/4" deep. It is in excellent original condition.
