These 1920's earrings have screw-back fasteners, typical of the times. The carved stones look very much like coral but are actually celluloid. They were costume jewelry in their day, meant to go with faux coral celluloid brooches and bangles. The celluloid pieces are prong set and secure. These earrings are sterling silver, so marked on the fasteners, and not white metal. There are two marcasites on each earring. These earrings are in excellent original condition, almost 100 years old. They each measure 1 3/4" long and 1/2" wide. They weigh 7.3 grams the pair.
