This lovely hand-painted brooch dates back to the pre-World War II years. It is nicely done, depicting two water lilies with lily pads, along with delicately-rendered cat-tails against a lake with trees and sky in the background. There is a gold border. This pin is, in all likelihood, a souvenir of Florida. These pins were decorated and sold there as souvenirs during the early twentieth century. This pin has many colors; pink, white, green, brown, lavender, and yellow, as well as white. It is in excellent original condition with 6 prongs holding the ceramic medallion to the oval brass backing. There is a C-catch. The pin is a nice size, measuring 2" high X 1 1/4" across.
