This unusual Native American Navaho cuff bracelet features a lovely, large cabochon bloodstone stone that has been polished to a high sheen. The 1 5/8" X 1 1/4" X 3/16" thick stone is a dark green color with flecks of red. Bloodstone has been mostly used in Victorian jewelry, especially men's, and it is unusual to find it in a Navaho piece. There is a scalloped and engraved bezel holding the stone in place. The stone is flanked on either side with half of a concho. The bracelet is marked "sterling" on the back and is inscribed "RJB" with an awl. This is a ladies' bracelet and a rather small one; it is 1 5/8" wide but has an inside circumference of only 6." The bracelet dates back to the 1970's. This piece weighs 32.7 grams. It is in excellent original condition; the stone is flawless.
