This sterling silver turtle pin is so marked on the back. It is Navaho and probably a tourist piece. The turtle is a sea turtle with head extended; he seems to be swimming. There are incised sunrise figures around the stone. The head is raised and has two round eyes with black rings. There is a beautiful blue-green turquoise stone that forms the shell; it is a smoothly polished cabochon with small flakes of silver in it. The stone is bezel-set and 5/8" X 3/4" X 1/4" thick. This sweet pin measures 1 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide and weighs 6 grams. It is in excellent original condition. It is somewhat old but not antique.
