Here is a quilt from the Depression-World War II era with each hexagonal block using the distinctive housedress prints and pastel colors typical of the age. The quilt is entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted at 9 stitches per inch. There are over 3000 pieces of fabric in this quilt. In addition, there is a beautiful, three-row border surrounding the quilt with a meticulously hand-stitched, scalloped binding. The quilt is 100% cotton and may be washed in the washing machine and dried in the dryer. Unusual for this vintage, the quilt is large enough to fit a queen-sized bed, 82" X 96" (shown on a full-sized bed). The quilt was found in a Chicago suburb. It is in excellent original condition.
