These older earrings are marked with a Mexican mark consistent with a mid-century date of manufacture but do not bear a registry mark. (The mark may be underneath the clip portion). These earrings were probably originally screw-backs. The clips appear to have been added around 1950 and are not sterling. They are, however, in good usable condition. These earrings are hand-wrought; they have a lovely, abstract leaf design and show good craftsmanship. The recessed areas of the design have been acid-treated to remain dark for contrast. Each earring measures 1 3/8" long by 11/16" wide. They follow the edge of the ear lobe in an attractive way. The condition is fine. They weigh 8.2 grams.
