This powder jar is crystal but the hexagon design is molded rather than cut. There are four chips on the bottom which show in the photographs if you look closely. They are old chips and feel smooth to the touch. The lid is marked "sterling" and also has a hallmark, a W inside a wreath. The lid weighs .88 oz. The lid, although a bit dented on the edges, has a lovely, deeply sculptured, repousse design of flowers and plumes. The design is Art Nouveau, dating this jar from around 1900 to 1920. There is a fancy monogram, "LBR" on the lid. This jar is in fine, usable condition; the lid fits tightly. The signs of usage do not seriously detract from the beauty of this antique vanity jar.
