This quirky dark red carved bakelite pin is in the shape of a playful cow with its head held high. The piece is a dark brick red rather than cherry. The pin is polished smooth but shaped and three-dimensional instead of flat. There are six sickle moons carved on the cow's back (could this be "the cow that jumped over the moon?") The cow is smiling. There is a pierced opening between the two back legs. The back is polished smooth. It shows a patina from age; this is a 1930's pin. The pin bar is original and riveted into the body; there is a safety catch. The cow is 2 1/8" across, 1 3/4" tall, and 3/16" thick. It is in excellent original condition.
