This estate ring is Victorian in style. The top is in the form of an eight-pointed star, similar to many garnet brooches of the era. In the center of the garnet-studded star is a white 5mm cultured pearl. The pearl is pure white with a lovely, pure white skin. All stones are prong set. There are two tiers of Bohemian garnets; the upper tier has eight garnets set in a circle, the lower tier eight more, forming the points of the star. The garnets are old-European cut, as they would be in a Victorian ring. This ring is marked "14K England" inside the band, and reveals that the ring is not an antique but a modern, probably 1970's, ring in the Victorian style. This is not unusual; the English have continued to make Victorian-style jewelry over the years, their pieces continuing to show the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail of the older pieces. This ring is a size 7 1/4. Its top measures 5/8" across and is 1/4" deep, weighing 3.4 grams. The ring is in excellent vintage condition.
