This unusual oval tabletop picture frame is an original Arts & Crafts piece, not a reproduction; it dates from around 1900. The front is molded metal with a silver-plated finish. The finish is matte with a soft sheen. The frame is sculptural with a raised acanthus leaf motif. It measures 4 1/8" X 5 1/8." A 4" X 5" oval photograph can be placed in this frame, but the frame itself is 3/4" wide and overlaps the photograph. The opening is 2 3/4" X 4." There is a Victorian studio card photo included with the frame. The original glass is also included. The back of the frame is metal painted black. It fits snugly into the front portion and can be removed by holding the edge of the frame and pressing down on the glass. There is a metal easel held to the back by a simple hinge. The mark "K & Co" in impressed near the top. This frame is all original (except for the photograph) and is in great condition, especially because of its age.
