This traditional calico quilt, from Indiana, dates from the late nineteenth century. It shows no signs of wear or fading and is crisp and like new. The backing is unbleached muslin. The quilt is clean and ready to add to your collection. The colors of this quilt; the dark pink calico and navy blue, suggest a Mennonite maker. The design is a simple nine-patch. The maker must have saved navy calico for many years to assemble all of the different prints used in this quilt. There are stars, stripes, moons, flowers, polka dots, ferns, and snowflakes, among many others. The quilt is hand-pieced and hand quilted at 8 stitches per inch. It is 100% cotton and may be machine washed and dried. It measures 66" X 78" and is a twin size. (It is shown over a full-sized bed.)
