This lovely early twentieth century pillbox is unusually deep. The round box measures 1 1/2" in diameter and is 1 1/4" tall with a slightly domed, tightly-fitting lid. There is an engraved design of flowers and plumes on the lid with a center cartouche for a monogram. The sides feature matching engraving. Some engraving is on the lid and matches up exactly with the design on the base. There are two dents on the bottom, one on the lid, and a 3/8" scratch on the side. None of these imperfections detract much from the appearance of this highly functional box. The marks on the bottom include 925/100 fine, sterling, 7208B, and an engraved flying unicorn. The box weighs 22.5 grams.
