From around 1890 until the 1930's hand-decorated porcelains were very popular. Ladies painted pieces both professionally and as hobbyists. Forget-me-nots, the tiny blue flowers painted on this sweet little cup, were a favorite of Victorian women because of their name. Often gifts bearing this flower were given. This piece is a baby cup with three handles. Forget-me-nots are painted all around, three different sprays. The handles and rim are decorated with gold. The cup is Bavarian porcelain, painted here in the U.S., and signed in gold by Rita Letz. The cup is 2 1/4" in diameter, 2" tall, and 3" across the handles. This sweet little cup is in excellent original condition. The gold shows no wear. This would be a sweet baby gift.
