This 1970's 14K gold ring has a very simple oval frame designed to set off its lovely oval lavender jade cabochon stone. Four prongs hold the stone to the mounting. Two circlets of gold form the band. Underneath the stone, they separate and form a brace to hold the mounting. The jade cabochon is a grayish-lavender with some variations of color within the stone. It has not been color-enhanced like contemporary jade jewelry from Asia; the stone is natural. The cabochon measures 3/8" across, 1/2" long, and 1/8" thick. The ring is between a size 7 1/4 and 7 1/2. It is comfortable to wear and does not turn around on your finger if you are a size 7 1/2. This ring is in excellent original condition. It weighs 3.4 grams.
