Here is a 7" salad plate from J & G Meakin of Hanley, England. It is semi-porcelain, more delicate than the older ironstone, and very pretty with its deep blue floral design. The pattern is "Colonial," made from 1890 and afterward. The china is a blue-white in color with a slightly scalloped and sculptured edge. The design is a transfer; it shows a moderate amount of flowing, or blurring. There is no gold. The plate is a nice display piece with its overall design. It measures 7" in diameter and is 1/2" deep. The plate is in excellent original condition.
