Here is a small Depression-Era or slightly older quilt for use in a crib or on a child's bed. It features blue embroidered blocks alternating with white ones. The hand-embroidered blocks feature story-book figures depicted in blue chain-stitching. The figures are stylized in an Art Deco fashion. There are 18 different embroidered figures. The quilt is hand quilted at 7-8 stitches per inch. The quilt is clean, having recently been washed. It is only in average condition with wear on the binding and some breaks in the white fabric. (The 8" X 8" embroidered blocks are all unblemished.) This little period piece measures 40" X 58." This quilt came from a Chicago collection formed in the 1980's. Add this one to your collection or use it for a craft project. It deserves to live on in some fashion.
