This wonderful Modernist copper necklace, marked "Renoir" is from maker Jerry Fels of Los Angeles, California and dates from around 1950-1960. This necklace consists of 3/4" wide kidney-bean shaped links that have a burnished and lacquered upper copper window hinged to a black enameled lower part. Because the parts are separate, there is some movement to the necklace. There is a hook and chain closing attachment that allows the necklace to measure anywhere from14" to 18" long. It would have been worn as a choker in the 1950's. This necklace is in excellent original condition and does not seem to ever have been worn.
