This lovely old quilt has an unusual design of four sprays of pink and white cherry blossoms against a blue background that suggests the sky. The branches are each a little different; all applique work and quilting was done by hand. The open areas of this quilt are covered with pretty quilted leaves and cherry blossoms. The quilting is expert at 10 stitches per inch. The top of this quilt is made of 16 sections which have been machine stitched together to form the top. The hand-stitched binding is a slightly darker blue than the top. This quilt dates from between 1930 and 1960. It is generous in size, 78" X 90," and will fit a full-size bed. The quilt is washable and is clean and ready to put on your bed. It was found in the western suburbs of Chicago.
