This English pottery plate is from Winkle and Co, Stoke on Trent, and dates from around 1890. It has a rich cobalt blue underglaze design against creamy white. The plate is 9 3/4" in diameter and 1" deep. The pattern is called "Togo." The border design is floral with an impressed design around the rim of the plate. The central design is scenic, showing a fanciful village with a lake in the foreground. There are two boats on the lake. There is a tree and a chapel to one side. This decorative plate is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks, chips, or stains. The back shows crazing. There are minor surface scratches and wear; this plate was part of a dinner set in its day.
