Marked "Renoir," this never-used pin and earring set is from Jerry Fels of Los Angeles, who used this trademark for his jewelry between 1945 and 1965. This company is well known for modernist design pieces in burnished copper, such as this artist's palette pin with matching clip earrings. Note that the earrings are still attached to their original card. All three pieces are in excellent original condition; they do not seem to have ever been worn. The palette pin is large and dramatic; it is 4 1/4" across the brushes. The pin itself is 1 3/4" X 2 5/8," and the clip earrings are 1 1/8" X 3/4" with the brushes measuring 2." All three pieces are brightly burnished and then lacquered so they do not tarnish. The pin looks great on a black or dark green sweater. Attach it to a beret. Make a statement with these pieces.
