This small tooled leather handbag has an Art Nouveau design and dates from between 1900 and 1920. There is a pansy as the centerpiece of the design; it is accented by foliage and scrolls; these designs were embossed by hand onto the leather. The frame of this 6" X 6 3/4" bag with 12" handle is made of gunmetal. The clasp is a turn-lock. The inside is olive-green suede. There is a bit of damage to the suede, near one hinge. Inside, there are pockets on either side. One pocket holds a small leather change purse. Except for the small damage inside, this bag is in excellent original condition, including the binding and the handle.
