This Mexican sterling bee pin is of cast construction and excellent workmanship. The bee looks very realistic, and a bit larger than life. The wings are wide spread. When worn, it looks as if the bee has just landed on your shoulder. The recessed areas on the pin's surface have been darkened with acid for contrast. (This is a common technique used by Mexican silversmiths.) One mark reads "Mex 925" and the other is a registry mark. The pin dates from after 1979, but it is not new. It is in excellent original condition. It measures 1 1/2" wide by 1" high and weighs 5.7 grams.
