Here is an original Art Deco necklace dating from the 1920's. It is marked "sterling" on one of the links. The necklace has a 1" wide and 3" long pendant set with two polished carnelian (a type of onyx) stones. The geometric design is distinctively Art Deco. The pendant is of cast construction with nice detail. Bead-set marcasites trim the pendant. Both carnelian stones, prong-set, are cut and polished. The smooth stones are translucent with some light coming through. The 17 1/2" chain is a fetter link one with a delicate look. It has an old-fashioned spring ring clasp. This necklace is in excellent original condition with one marcasite replacement and no damage to the stones. The necklace is 17 1/2" long with the pendant dropping an additional 3."
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: silver, reddish brown, Size: 1" X 3" with 17 1/2" Chain
