This delicately hand-painted ceramic pin was probably painted by a talented hobbyist of the early twentieth century, when it was the fashion to decorate china yourself. The design of three violets and green foliage is framed by a gold edging. The ceramic portion is an oval button attached by 6 prongs to a brass backing. There is a simple C-catch and long pin bar which help date this pin around 1900-1920. The pin measures 1 13/16" X 1 3/8." The pin is in excellent original condition.
