Gold-Filled Victorian Cross with Rose-Cut Garnets
This old costume cross dates from around 1900. It is gold-filled with brass as the base metal. The layer of gold is worn in spots, but this does not show on the front. The cross contains 12 rose-cut Bohemian garnets that are bead-set. The four garnets at the tips of the arms are slightly larger and accent the flared shapes of the tips. There is a beautiful bail with 5 additional garnets, bead-set as well. The bail has a large opening to accommodate a silk cord or any type of chain you wish to wear. This cross measures 2 1/4" long, including the bail, and 1 1/8" wide. This piece is all original with only the wear on the back detracting a little from perfection.
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: gold-filled, dark red, Size: 2 1/4" X 1 1/8"
