Here is a leather shoulder bag with wide strap made by Meeker of Joplin, Mo. The bag dates from the 1940's or 1950's. It is a rich brown cowhide-type leather with a darker check and accent stripe on the flap. Pretty tooled designs decorate the flap as well. The clasp is a turn-clasp, made of brass. The bag is lined with nylon. The inside has three compartments separated by two zipped pockets. There is one side pocket. Included is a matching leather folding wallet with change purse, credit card pocket, and place for a checkbook. Both bag and wallet are in excellent original condition. Neither seem to have been used at all. The bag measures 12 1/2" wide, 8 1/2" high, and 3 3/4" thick. The strap is 1 1/4" wide and 32" long. The wallet is 7 1/2" long by 4 1/4" wide.
