This hat-pin is from around 1900. Its overall length is 11 3/4;" the hats of the era were very large and ornate and required very long hat pins to anchor them. The head of the hat-pin is 1 7/8" in diameter and 5/8" deep. It is hollow underneath. It is of stamped construction and scalloped for strength. It is made of white brass and decorated with prong-set, European-cut rhinestones. The stones are uniformly clear. This hat-pin is in excellent original condition.
