Here is a beautifully aged Depression-Era bakelite bangle bracelet. The color has softened and darkened slightly from a bright chartreuse, still visible on the inner surface, to a light olive with golden highlights. Two colors swirled together are the trademark feature of the Catalin Company of Chicago, who invented the process. This bangle has a soft sheen and a nice patina of age. It is 15/16" wide, 3/8" thick, and it has an inner circumference of 7 7/8." This bangle will fit over an above-average sized hand.
