From David Andersen of Norway comes this striking black and gold-over-sterling necklace with matching earrings. The necklace is formed of 12 double-leaf links which have a modernist look. There is curvature of the leaves, allowing the smooth black enamel inlaid on them to both catch and reflect light in an intriguing way. The necklace is a choker-style, 15" long and just over 3/4" wide. It has a spring ring catch and thus lends itself to easy lengthening, if desired. The clip earrings are formed of two leaf shapes turning outward rather than inward as in the necklace; this adds interest to the set. Each earring is 1" wide X 1 3/8" high. Both necklace and earrings are marked. They date from the mid-twentieth century. All three pieces are in excellent original condition. The set weighs 58.5 grams.
