This is a ca. 1900-1920 brass inkwell with a pretty Art Nouveau design. There are two raised boughs of holly held together with a bow along the bottom of the tray. The scalloped edges of the tray have berries on either side. The tray has decorative feet but rests on its bottom. The ink pot has a hinged lid that opens to show a lipped opening. The original white china inkwell sits inside. This inkwell has a nice patina without being highly polished. There is no pitting or verdigris. There are no marks. It measures 6 1/2" across, 5 1/4" deep, and 2 1/4" tall. This antique inkwell is in excellent original condition and would be a decorative addition to your desk or to a collection.
