This little quilt was made for use in a crib, and with its blue squares, was probably made for a little boy. There are pieced blocks of colorful eight-pointed stars on a white ground alternating with light blue squares. The backing and binding are a matching blue. The brightly colored cotton prints used all date from between 1930 and 1950. This quilt is 100% cotton and may be washed in the washing machine and dried in the dryer. It is clean and has been recently washed. It is in fine condition but has water stains on one corner (shown in the photographs). This is the only condition issue. The quilt measures 30" X 44." The blocks were hand-pieced but set together by machine; the quilting was elegantly done by hand at 8-9 stitches per inch. This quilt came from a Chicago estate.
