This early twentieth century vanity tray is made of cast brass. There is a pretty engraved design around the perimeter and fancy cast handles at either end. There are four small ovoid feet. The oval tray has a lace insert held between two layers of glass. The glass is held in place by a detachable brass bezel. The lace is beautiful. It is cream in color with a figural design of a reclining lady in her garden. She is wearing a diaphanous robe. Other elements of the design are a tree, possibly a rosebush, with leaves and two roses. The lace seems to be hand made Italian lace of good quality. This tray is in excellent original condition. The lace is original and unstained. It measures 9 3/4" long including the handles, 5 1/2" wide, and 3/4" high. It will hold several perfumes.
