This lovely lady's desk accessory dates from the 1920's, an era when a lady had her own desk for her handling correspondence. This letter opener has a silver-plated blade that shows wear at the pointed end and bears the impressed mark "ACIER" near the handle. The fancy, baroque handle is marked "sterling" and "925" on the handle. This period letter opener measures 8 1/2" long by 1/2" wide. It is perfectly functional and in fine condition with no other issues except for wear at the tip.
