These older Mexican sterling earrings (pre-1965) have screw attachments. These are original, but could easily be converted to pierced earrings by removing the screw attachments and substituting your choice of posts or wires. The earrings are of cast construction and nicely finished. They have a raised Aztec-style geometric design with the recessed areas acid-treated to darken them and provide contrast. They are large and showy, the drop-portions measuring 1 1/4" wide by 1 7/8" long. They hang 2" down from the center of the ear. The markings include a signature "S.B." but no registry mark. The earrings are in excellent original condition. They weigh 7.7 grams each, not too heavy to be uncomfortable.
