This early twentieth century Norwegian brooch is marked "830S" meaning 830/1000 parts silver; the TO mark is possibly Theodor Olsen of Bergen. The fittings on this pin are a C-catch, long pin bar, and tube hinge, archaic in style. This pin has a gold wash over the silver. In the center is a rose-cut red stone, possibly a gemstone, in a fancy crimped bezel. The stone has a tiny chip. The pin is 1 1/2" in diameter and is 3/8" thick. It weighs 8.7 grams. The pin is in excellent original condition except for minor damage to the stone.
