This lozenge-shaped locket is yellow gold-filled with a rose-gold layer in the center. There is a raised shield on the front of the locket set with faceted paste (glass) stones, and a prong-set black faceted glass stone as the centerpiece. The locket opens to reveal two compartments for photographs, both with their original bezels. The back is plain. There is a fancy bail holding the locket to the long rope chain that matches. Only the chain is marked, "NY Co 1/20," on the clasp. (It is 1/20 10 K gold filled.) This decorative locket is in excellent original condition. It measures 1 1/2" long including the bail and 3/4" wide. The chain is 26" long. This locket is probably Depression-Era, ca. 1925-1950.
