This heart-on-a-branch pin is in the Victorian style but dates from after the turn of the century. It has a safety catch of a type not seen until around 1920. This pin is of stamped construction. It is excellently crafted with nice detail on the branches and lovely scrollwork on the heart's face. There are five pink coral beads prong-set along the center of the heart. There is symbolism here; the coral and the heart signify friendship. This pin is marked "Rode Sterling" on the back. It measures 2" across X 1" high X 1/4" thick. The pin is in excellent original condition. There is a nice patina of age.
