These pretty clip earrings feature prong-set shell cameos that face each other. The ladies have hair down to their shoulders. The cameos are hand-carved with reasonable detail; the faces are slightly different, since they are hand-carved. The silver settings are marked "800," meaning that they are 80% silver and 20% alloy. The mountings are embellished with marcasites to add sparkle. These earrings may date from before World War II, but clip attachments did not become prevalent until after 1950. They are more likely from the 1970's. The clip attachments are base metal. Each earring measures 5/8" X 3/4" high. They are comfortable to wear.
