Another great antique survivor from the 1800's! This rare trivet shape was manufactured in the last 1/2 of the 19th century. It is the Athens pattern (on the reverse of the trivet it says "Athen"). Made by the W. Adams company in England.
It is in exceptionally fine condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, or repairs. The only sign of use or wear is slight discoloration along the inside top rim that contained the teapot or sauce tureen.
The transfer is very good and bleeds into the white body. This black color is referred to as Mulberry. It is 8" across at the handles and 7" across the other direction. The inner octagon is 4" across.
