This rarely found pattern called "Chimera" is from the earliest years of the 1900s.
It was made by Portieux and apparently this came with an underplate which was signed by Portieux but is not part of this listing.
The footed pedestal is a very useful/functional serving piece. A great holder for dining room, living room, kitchen, or bathroom.
It is in the wonderful robin's egg blue color, Portieux is known for and is in excellent condition.
The background of the main design is a raised stippled texture giving the appearance of hand carved workmanship although this is clearly a molded item. The fluted, scalloped, and other design elements give this piece a special feel.
It measures 5 3/4" high and is 6" in diameter at the rim.
