Gorgeous! We are so glad to be able to offer this outstanding lorgnette made by Frank Krementz, USA during the Art Nouveau period.
It is in superb condition. We especially love the delicate stippling in the flat area behind the raised iris. It features all the typical Art Nouveau devices - naturalistic, whiplash/vining designs and a very pleasing shape.
The lenses are excellent magnifiers. The button mechanism is intact and works exactly as it should.
There is a bail at the end so it can be worn on a chain or added to a chatelaine.
It is 4 7/8" long.
Inside the compartment where the lens are retracted and stored when not in use, you will find the plaque with the 'sterling' impression as well as the Krementz (fish hook) cypher mark.
