These American-made charms are each marked sterling. A few are hallmarked by specific makers. For example the USN anchor one is hallmarked by Walter Lampl!!
Eight of the nine charms have engravings on the reverse side. The Walter Lampl charm has only the WL hallmark in a shield.
The pansy charms are symbolic of love and "thinking about love" as are the ones with forget-me-not themes. I suspect the symbolism of the dog one is of loyalty and friendship.
The 'blazing' heart one has the most enamel wear visible (reddish rust colored enamel). The puffiest of the hearts has a stone that we think is a sapphire (also a symbol of love and devotion/loyalty.
The largest measures approx. 3/4" x 5/8" with most being 5/8" x 5/8". The bracelet is 7" in length. Comfortable and lots of fun to wear!
Condition is shown very clearly in photos. These charms date from the mid-1930s to mid-1940s.
Please note that each of the enamel charms, if sold individually, will sell for $85.00-200.00. In fact, keep an eye out - we will be listing 15 individual sterling and enamel pansy charms in the very near future. We want to sell this particular bracelet intact but if you want individual charms to fill out your own bracelet, the new listing will be just right for you!
