This Schafer & Vater plaque was acquired at the same time as our Item #twt3676 - an antique Volkstedt jasper ware plaque of lovers. They share the same type of frame. The frames were made between 1943 and 1963 (based on the label remnant found on the back of this frame). The plaque is considerably older than the frame and was made ca. 1900. The last photo shows the framed Volkstedt plaque alongside this one.
The frame measures 14" x 10" x 2 1/2" deep. The plaque is mounted on a black velvet lined base and is very firmly affixed to the frame.
This plaque with an image of a beautiful Nouveau lady with curvy 3-D flowers, cattails, and stems surrounding her is very lovely. There are a couple of petal tip chips and a color skip (at 12 o'clock on the top flower) and a chip on the bottom most 3-D flower.
