There is something about the colors of this piece that set it apart from many similar art glass pieces. This Ruby Gold bowl was designed by Steven V. Correia in 1984. Also, as per his sister Algerine, he (they - the studio) no longer produce iridescent pieces.
Correia art glass is represented by many major art museums including, the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Corning Museum, and the Chrysler Museum of Art.
This gorgeous footed bowl is quite large at 10 1/4" in diameter and standing 5 3/4" high. Excellent condition. It is signed and dated on the base and is bowl #4. According to Algerine, in 1984 similar bowls sold for $425.00-$450.00. If made today, it would be $450.00-$600.00. Luckily for one of you, we are willing and able to offer it for less!!
