The perfect wearable size!
To us, there are several factors that make this pendant exceptional. One is the color - known as 'moss in snow' - an almost perfect descriptor of this type of jade. Another factor is the delicate carving of the linghzi (a type of mushroom that is often depicted as the mushroom itself or used as a visual theme - often found on the head of the traditional Chinese sceptre, or ruyi). The third exceptional factor is that it is wafer thin! How this was carved without cracking or breaking is beyond us. Probably one of the thinnest and most translucent pieces we've ever had. Perfect condition.
There is a tiny 14K and 585 - our camera could not pick it up but it is very visible with 10x magnifying lens.
1 5/8" long not counting the gold bale.
The last photo shows the pendant held up to the light where you can see that there are piercings throughout the carving. The plaque is a mere 14.1mm (.05") thin!!
