This wonderful porcelain figure is likely Japanese in origin. It is very tall at 19" and in excellent condition.
Take a close look at all the many details of the robes she is dressed in, the beautiful grace of her hands, and her serene facial expression. Also, make sure you look closely where the head attaches to the body. Just above the robe neck there appears to be a visible deposit of 'slip' (the liquid clay or porcelain used to attach components). As we have seen this in the construction of other figures that is what we believe it to be, but someone else suggested it might be a repair. In our experience, repairs are not done in this manner. We mention it verbally to bring your attention to it in the photos. We have priced it accordingly.
The robe has a multitude of stylized flowers and butterflies.
