Appropriately simple and hopeful, this Christmas spoon was made shortly after the end of WWII.
Many of my customers choose to commemorate significant birthdays or anniversaries with these artist designed spoons and forks. Each design relates to a Christmas theme and in fact, says "Julen" or "Jul" with the year on the reverse side (Julen is the Danish word for Christmas).
A perfect way to celebrate and acknowledge each family member or to start a new tradition. Generations can arrive at the celebratory feast and see themselves honored by a fork and spoon at their place setting! A great way to create memories. And what a delightful addition to the much anticipated dessert course! Coffee and pie or cake or pudding!
Marketed through the Jensen shops, this is the 1947 spoon for the Christmas series by A. Michelsen, Denmark. It is sterling silver with the simple Winter design work done in white enamel dots representing falling snow.
The condition on this one is good but the gold wash has worn away and a couple of the white snowflakes have tiny cracks but as you will see in the photos, still intact. Well worth the reduced price!
Keep in mind, that Michelsen no longer produces or designs these sets. Irreplaceable! Fortunately, we have many of the Christmas forks and spoons available for sale on our site. Please search it if you are looking for a specific year.
