These 5 very large barrel-shaped amber beads have been strung together with interesting sterling silver and white metal spacer beads to make a knockout of a choker!
The color is a very rich egg-yolk yellow.
The larger center bead measures approx. 1 1/2" in diameter and 1 1/4 high. The 4 other beads are each approx. 1 3/8" in diameter and 1 1/8" high. There is a hook and eye type clasp. The white metal beads are cylindrical and pierced while the smaller sterling beads are somewhat flattened spheres. Approx. 16 1/2" long.
Without taking the necklace apart we were unable to perform a salt-water test on the amber but we were able to use a black light to see if they fluoresced. The did fluoresce very lightly. We were told they were amber from the Afghanistan region. We purchased them from a reputable seller locally who is now selling off her most coveted items.
